Book for Architects, gta Exhibitions, ETH Zurich Hönggerberg, bis 4. Dezember 2015
Curated by Fredi Fischli, Andri Gerber and Niels Olsen, Book for Architects dives into the relationship between architecture and book. "Books loom large for architects – books that endeavor to talk about architecture, books that are a source of inspiration, a forum for polemics, an expression of dreams, wishful thinking and so much more." This essayistic exhibition full of surprises and discoveries makes clear how important the space on paper is for architects: as a place for thoughts and experiments, as an archive for realized and unrealized projects, as a tool for self-promotion and prestige. There are all sort of displays, an irreverent yet stylish intervention by artist and poet Karl Holmqvist and homages to architects like Rem Koolhaas (great display of all his books, see first image below), Christian Kerez, or 90-years-old Justus Dahinden.
