On the final (and additional) day of our current exhibition The Playground Project on Whit Monday, we are inviting our young visitors to a special afternoon: Together with German artist Phillip Zach (*1984, lives in Los Angeles) we will set our imagination free by making pottery! The only question is: What are the things you would like to see on your dinner table? And what will they look like when you will cast them in clay? And the only better news is: All results of the workshop will become real art works in an exhibition at LUMA Foundation's café next door!

Age: 5-12

Registration: Julia Moritz, moritz@kunsthallezurich.ch, 0041 (0) 44 272 15 15

Attention: The older your clothes, the more fun you’ll have!

LUMA Foundation is pleased to announce schwarzescafé: Austrian artist Heimo Zobernig has been commissioned for a new café located in the LUMA Westbau, a part of the Löwenbräu arts complex in Zurich. schwarzescafé is primarily a coffee house and bar with an interior by Zobernig; it is an ideal place to meet and relax. As an architectural intervention, the café serves multiple functions: hospitality, screening and lecture hall, display setting for future exhibitions and reading room, hosting Kunsthalle Zürich’s library. Coinciding with Manifesta 11 in Zurich, schwarzescafé’s first phase is open to the public ‪from 12 May–18 September 2016. Opening on June 11, schwarzescafé will host the thematic exhibition HOME, including works by Morag Keil, Georgie Nettell, Sam Pulitzer, Emily Sundblad, Frances Stark, Phillip Zach and more. Both projects are initiated and curated by Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen in an ongoing collaboration with LUMA Foundation and gta exhibitions, ETH Zurich.

Phillip Zach is a Los Angeles based artist who has widely exhibited at galleries such as Freedman Fitzpatrick, Los Angeles; Koppe Astner, Glasgow; Johan Berggren, Malmö; Casey Kaplan, New York; Laura Bartlett, London, and Greene Naftali, New York, as well as the 31st Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, White Flag Projects, St. Louis, Halle für Kunst, Lüneburg and the Dortmunder Kunstverein. His forthcoming exhibitions include a solo presentation for Freedman Fitzpatrick at Frieze New York, and the group show HOME at the Luma Foundation in Zurich.
